We are so proud to announce that we have been awarded ‘Best Environmental and Waste Management Consultancy 2024 – East Midlands’ and ‘Most Innovative Environmental and Social Value Initiative 2024’ for Project DIVERTat the UK Enterprise Awards!
Now in its eighth year, the UK Enterprise awards celebrates innovation, excellence and the achievements of small and medium-sized business in the UK. Encore Environment was nominated for its exceptional environmental and waste management consultancy to the construction industry which provides total waste management, strategic support, and environmental impact data to help construction companies achieve their sustainability goals.
Project DIVERT was also nominated in the environmental and social value category, and we are delighted that it has won this year! Project DIVERT is going from strength to strength as it effectively shifts the focus from recycling to ‘waste prevention’ and gives decision makers the opportunity for early intervention to divert items away from traditional waste routes and connect them to local communities.
Rachel Rowley, managing director at Encore Environment said: “In the industry we are referred to as progressive because we are actively trying to reduce waste for our clients. If there’s less waste, there are less skips which lowers the client’s waste costs and also reduces carbon emissions from transporting waste. Project DIVERT facilitates the connection between reusable items and materials to organisations in need, which keeps them in the circular economy and out of the waste stream. It also ensures the segregation of clean excess construction material such as plasterboard and floor coverings that can be bought locally by others or transferred to other live construction sites.”
“It is all documented with Duty of Care, end destination transparency and environmental metrics around the project including tonnage saved from landfill and a carbon measure. An impact report is generated for clients including all environmental data which also supports Encore’s B Corp commitments.”
The aim of the 2024 UK Enterprise Awards are to find the best businesses across the nation and give them the recognition they deserve. The judges made their decision based on various criteria including client dedication, innovation, business growth, longevity, online reputation, customer feedback and business performance.
“We are so proud of our team and what we are achieving together,” said Rachel. “It means so much to us to be nominated and commended as a SME. We work in a large and complex industry and these awards are about proving that SME’s can compete and excel, through being proactive and innovative.’
