The Challenge
As part of the renovation process to transform an iconic landmark in Birmingham, Overbury managed the refit works of Birmingham Library.
The project is viewed by the Birmingham City Council as a flagship project for the city’s redevelopment and has been described as the largest regional library in Europe.
As the project had several very specific requirements, due to the nature of the site, Overbury had some concerns regarding finding a suitable waste partner, who could meet the ongoing demands of site. The Solution
Appointed to complete waste away services for the Library of Birmingham, Encore supported Overbury during the four month site duration.
Due to the complexity of the project, suppliers were needed to service on a wait and load basis, while meeting time scales and deadlines, often with little notice. Encore have a nationwide chain of trusted suppliers, making it possible to effectively coordinate waste for major contractors on large-scale projects just like this one.
Selecting from one of our many suppliers, all of which are fully compliant with Environment Agency standards, Encore managed the segregated waste streams of metal, plasterboard and mixed. Encore provided wait and load skips of varying sizes, meeting all requirements and complying to all building requirements.
The Results
Encore helped Overbury ensure all project demands were met and achieve full satisfaction from the client by supporting their waste management needs during the fit-out of the Birmingham Library.
As Encore is completely independent of the waste suppliers, we were able to advise Overbury on the best waste strategy for them, as well as keep them informed along the way with good quality management information and reporting.
