School Donation Acoustic Panels

ProjectDIVERT – School Donation

The Client
ISG, a global construction specialist, is committed to promoting the sustainability agenda through its business operations and supporting their clients’ sustainable business goals. It was working on an office fit-out in central London.

The Challenge
During the project, ISG removed 50sq m worth of acoustic panels from the site, which could be used elsewhere. As part of its key operational values to reduce carbon footprint, minimise waste to landfill and support communities, it turned to Encore Environment to find a suitable home for the panels.

The Solution
We had established a connection with Our Lady of Hartley Catholic Primary School in Kent through our Waste Wise Kids programme, which teaches four- to 12-year-olds about the impact of waste on our environment and ways to reduce and recycle. The school needed to improve its building’s acoustic performance and reduce noise at lunchtimes.

The Result
We arranged for the collection of the panels, which were donated to the school. This not only helped the school towards its acoustic requirements, making a more pleasant environment for its 200 or so pupils, but also achieved carbon savings by avoiding the use of landfill or Material Recycling Facilities.

What our client said:

“Since we’ve been working with Encore Environment, we have used their ProjectDIVERT app It’s excellent! Not only do we save money by not sending waste from our strip-outs in a skip, it also saves carbon but means we can help charitable organisations in need who can put the items to good use! It’s a win win!”
