We are delighted that Encore Environment has been announced a Co2nstruct Zero Business Champion in the Co2nstruct Zero 7th quarterly performance report at London BUILD with comment from the Minister of State for Industry and Economic Security and the Minister of State for the Investment Security Unit at the Cabinet Office, Nusrat Ghani.

construct zero business champion

Co2nstruct Zero is a collaboration initiated by the Construction Leadership Council to co-ordinate the work of industry-leading companies seeking to decarbonise the built environment. We have been business partners since April 2022.

Our Business Champion detailed submission included information around our alignment to the CZ priorities and also our emerging leader, Laura Walden, who has been recognised as forging a path to become a future industry leader. We were credited on our work with the construction waste supply chain, our internal sustainability benchmarking and actions, and in particular our outreach work through Waste Wise Kids. It was viewed that our emerging leader also demonstrates the strength of the company values through her commitment to positive action!

Nusrat Ghani, Minister of State for Industry and Economic Security and the Minister of State for the Investment Security Unit at the Cabinet Office said:

“I welcome the latest Co2nstruct Zero report, which shows that while we’ve made great progress so far, there’s still much more we can do. By working in partnership with our growing network of over 220 companies, we can continue to learn from each other and help the sector reach net zero. I’m also pleased to announce five new Business Champions to the Co2nstruct Zero Programme: FM Conway, Jewson, Encore Environment, Ecoclo Synergy UK and Danosa UK, and I look forward to working with them to support the construction sector.

Matt Palmer, Construction Leadership Council Industry Sponsor for Biodiversity and Net Zero said:

“The construction sector has the ambition, knowledge and potential to lead the drive to Net Zero, and today’s report highlights the positive progress we have made together over the past two years. However, there is still more work to be done, and it is vital that the construction industry works together to innovate and evolve, and take the steps needed to meet our Net Zero targets.”

The Co2nstruct Zero Business Champions make commitments to help the sector’s drive towards reducing carbon emissions in the delivery and operation of the built environment and work alongside the CLC to share innovations and best practice, acting as promotors and role models to support the industry’s move to Net Zero carbon.

Rachel Rowley, managing director at Encore Environment said: “We are very proud to be part of the huge collaborative effort from across the entire industry to support the delivery of Net Zero targets! I also commend Laura, our emerging leader, for her continued dedication – well done!”
